West Oakland Resilience Network Working Group

The mission of this working group is to articulate and shape issues of resilience and sustainability in West Oakland as they may be implemented as reforms of current policies. In addition, this working group should contemplate and make recommendations for more extensive critiques and proposals for state and local systems transformation, as may be necessary or desirable beyond the scope of traditional reforms being undertaken by the current California state government and Alameda County and City of Oakland local government proposals. As much as possible, this working group should point out reasons for why West Oakland can be a possible model of change for communities in Oakland, Alameda County, the San Francisco area, in California, in the United States and throughout the world.
