UPDATE: Ebola Patient Is Moved to London, and 2 Others Are Tested in Britain

LONDON — A health worker who returned from West Africa and was found to have Ebola when she arrived home in Scotland was transferred on Tuesday to Britain’s designated treatment center for the disease in London. The authorities also reported that two more people were being tested for the virus.

The sudden flurry of episodes involving travelers from countries at the center of the Ebola epidemic raised questions about screening procedures at British airports, where passengers from Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone are supposed to be scrutinized for symptoms of Ebola, such as high temperatures....

LONDON — A health-care worker who recently returned to Scotland from West Africa has been diagnosed with Ebola, the Scottish government said Monday.

The patient has been isolated and is receiving treatment at the Brownlee Unit for Infectious Diseases on the Gartnavel General Hospital campus in Glasgow. In a televised news conference Monday night, one of the nurse’s doctors, Alisdair MacConnachie, said the patient was “clinically stable” and had a “good prognosis.”

The patient was admitted to the hospital early Monday after identifying herself as having a fever... 

The patient was an employee of NHS Scotland and was working at an Ebola treatment center in Kerry Town, Sierra Leone, a spokeswoman for Save the Children UK confirmed to The Post. Save the Children manages the Kerry Town facility.
