> You are cordially invited to join us on February 9th from 1:30-3:00 pm at USIP headquarters for U.S. Marine Corps Crisis Response: Ebola, a discussion of Marine Corps activities with regard to recent U.S. efforts on Ebola.
>
> Numerous complex emergencies around the world are taxing the ability of nations and the humanitarian community to respond. This situation highlights the increasing importance of interorganizational communication and coordination.
>
> In response to Ebola, the U.S. Marine Corps mobilized the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force - Crisis Response Africa (SPMAGTF-CR AF). The Commanding Officer, Col. Robert C. Fulford, will provide a short brief and lead discussions focused on communication, internal and external interaction of governmental/non-governmental agencies as well as lessons learned throughout the deployment.
>
> SPMAGTF-CR-AF is a rotational contingent of approximately 800 Marines, sailors and support elements, which is a self-command and controlled, self-deploying, highly mobile crisis response force allocated to U.S. Africa Command to respond to missions in permissive and uncertain environments. SPMAGTF-CR-AF is postured to respond to a broad range of military operations in Africa, including: U.S. Embassy reinforcement, fixed-site security, non-combatant evacuation operations, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations, theater security cooperation, and other missions as directed.
