Opinion: -What do COVID-19 and the bank crisis have in common? --the trust issue

Assuming that we will continue to gain ground against this coronavirus and that it will become endemic and manageable even if it doesn’t entirely disappear, there will still be other pandemics in the future. Have we learned the lessons of COVID-19? In particular, have we learned from our mistakes?

Study outlines how low English language skills among some U.S. residents hurt their vacination rates and hospitalization rates

A study of more than 850,000 people in Minnesota and Wisconsin finds a link between a preference to speak a non-English language and limited English proficiency and delayed time to first COVID-19 vaccination and increased rates of SARS-CoV-2–related hospitalization and death among some language-preference groups.

Analysis: Obesity and COVID-19 mortality are correlated-study

We observe a statistically significant positive association between COVID-19 mortality and the proportion of obese in adult populations spanning 142 countries. This association holds across countries belonging to different income groups and is not sensitive to a population’s median age, proportion of the elderly, and/or proportion of females.
