Biden says COVID-19 cases down in all 50 states

Thanks a lot to the hard work of so many people, COVID cases are down in all fifty states," Biden said.

"We're not done fighting this virus," he added. "We still have tens of millions left to vaccinate. But we are making significant progress."

He praised the nation's vaccination program, which he credited with delivering at least one dose of a vaccine to sixty percent of Americans.

Biden urged Americans to continue to seek out the free vaccines, to protect themselves and their communities.

"Every day, the light at the end of that tunnel is growing brighter," he said.

Biden administration leans on ‘Community Corps’ to help vaccinate the hard to reach

PHILADELPHIA — Only a trickle of people had visited her community vaccination site seeking a first coronavirus shot last Monday when Dr. Ala Stanford, a local pediatric surgeon, seized on an unexpected opening.

Across the street from the church parking lot where she had set up shop, a funeral home was holding a trio of services, including one for a victim of Covid-19. She mocked up new fliers, then delivered them to the funeral home. By the afternoon, several workers and guests had crossed the street to get inoculated, including Justin Larkin, a funeral attendant who stuck out his arm for the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, then hustled back to his job.

‘It’s the vaccinations’: Virus cases drop significantly in the Northeast

States in the Northeast, after experiencing spikes in coronavirus infections earlier this year, are reporting significant drops in cases and hospitalizations.

Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island have all reported many fewer cases in recent weeks as more people receive vaccinations. New York and New Jersey have also seen steady declines in cases after struggling to contain the virus earlier this spring.
