The Global Resilience System has a heavy emphasis on climate change and broader global changes, including those affecting food security, water security, energy, etc.

By using the <content_management@m.resiliencesystem.org> email address, you can use the content management group to put articles in the Resilience Systems. However, we recommend that regular well-vetted posters to learn how to post their articles and comments directly.

Putting (task) in the Subject line, sends the mailhandler message to the content management group's task server.

"GRS" directs the content to the Global Resilience System. Putting USRS in the message would send it also to the U.S. Resilience System.

A "3" denotes medium time importance. For example, this post could be done in a few days, if there is a backlog in emergency postings.

"Agriculture" sends it to the Agriculture working group and tags the message for search engines.

"Food Security" sends it to the Agriculture working group and tags the message for search engines.

The working group members would receive the messages as an email and can comment on it as they see fit. Registered users can also comment on the article within the Global Resilience System.

Kathy can explain the more advanced aspects of posting and searching in the many Resilience Systems and Resilience Networks. You have been approved as a vetted user, for when you register in the various Resilience Systems. If requested, we can bump you up to higher levels of access status, when you need more advanced features.

Climate Change Impacts on Agriculture and Food Security: Implications for Developing Climate Resilient Agriculture Programs

Over the three-year USAID African and Latin American Resilience to Climate Change (ARCC) program, the team used rigorous data analysis to advise USAID Missions and implementing partners on best practices for agriculture and food security programming.

ARCC’s Climate Change Vulnerability Assessments (CCVAs) help the development community understand the extent to which people dependent on agriculture-based livelihoods are likely to be affected by climate change. These assessments were designed to establish an understanding of current climate conditions, make projections on possible future conditions, and apply this knowledge to agriculture, food security, biodiversity and other sectoral development priorities. During this event, lessons learned will be discussed and formally presented as a “Compendium of Lessons Learned from ARCC Climate Change Vulnerability Assessments.”

Throughout the event, panelists will share the key lessons they learned when designing and implementing climate change and agriculture-based livelihood vulnerability assessments. They will also discuss results—uptake and utilization—that contribute to successful climate-resilient agricultural and food security policies and programs.
