> ISD Facilities Being Evaluated for Solar
>
> Through the County’s Energy Performance Contracting program, an Energy Service Company (ESCO), Ameresco, has been competitively selected to conduct an audit of approximately 35 County facilities managed by the Internal Service Department (ISD) to evaluate the feasibility of incorporating solar energy technology. The audit’s results will include a site-by-site evaluation of specific technologies, site suitability, technical and financial considerations, and a detailed recommendation for each facility. Depending on the audit's findings, a recommendation may be made to the Board of County Commissioners to proceed with the implementation of all or some of the recommended measures.

> 2018 King Tide Predictions Are In!
> From John Englander:
> - Why High Tide Can Be Zero to 30 feet
> - Sea Level Falling until 2024
> - We Must Rise with the Tide
>
>
> This new NOAA report indicates that since 2000, annual high-tide flooding frequencies increased about 125% (from 1.3 days to 3.0 days/year) along the Southeast Atlantic coast.
>
> It predicts that by 2100, high-tide flooding will occur ‘every other day’ (182 days/year) or more often under the Intermediate Low Scenario in Southeast Atlantic.
>
> The results illustrate how close U.S. coastal cities are to a tipping point with respect to flood frequency, as only 0.3m to 0.7 m separates minor floods from moderate and major floods.
